About Mit energy and climate night

MIT Energy and Climate Night, previously known as the MIT Energy Night, is the first flagship event of the MIT Energy and Climate Club. It showcases close to 50 interactive presentations highlighting MIT’s unique innovation in climate and energy, annually drawing over 1,000 attendees. Presenters include MIT research labs, early-stage start-ups, and other climate and energy-focused companies.

Energy Night is free and open to the public. This is a great opportunity to witness the cutting-edge energy research developing across MIT’s ecosystem and spark conversations with students, researchers, faculty, and industry leaders.

On October 21st 2022, the MIT Museum buzzed with energy as over 500 enthusiasts gathered for the 2022 MIT Energy Night. This captivating evening showcased 40 cutting-edge projects, ranging from AI-driven climate monitoring to revolutionary recycling solutions. Milo Werner from The Engine illuminated the crowd with the firm's vision, Joy Dunn of Commonwealth Fusion Systems highlighted the untapped potential of fusion energy, and Dr. Christopher Knittel from the Sloan School delved into the promises and challenges of decarbonization. With spotlighted research unveiling breakthroughs in carbon-integrated building materials, nuclear batteries for distributed energy, and urban waste heat applications, attendees left inspired. MIT Energy Night wasn't just an event; it was a celebration of progress, dedication, and the future of energy.
