Rory Burke - Managing Director
Rory Burke is a second year MBA Candidate at MIT Sloan. He is particularly interested in the future of nuclear fission and fusion technologies. Prior to attending MIT, he spent five years at Booz Allen Hamilton, working on advanced manufacturing technologies for space and microelectronics applications. He holds a ME in Additive Manufacturing from Penn State and a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Matt Hoel - Managing Director
Matt Hoel is a 2026 MIT Leaders for Global Operations Fellow, pursuing an MBA from MIT Sloan and an SM in Mechanical Engineering. He is particularly interested in developing wind, wave, and tidal energy technologies and increasing the resilience of existing energy systems, as well as exploring novel energy storage solutions and battery recycling. Prior to attending MIT, he served as a US Marine Corps officer, MV-22B Osprey pilot, and instructor. He holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
Karikari Achireko Kwagyan - Content Director
Karikari Achireko Kwagyan is a dynamic energy specialist dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions. He is currently pursuing a dual Master of Science degrees in Technology & Policy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with a focus on engineering, energy, economics, finance, law, and policy. Prior to MIT, he worked as an Energy Infrastructure Consultant with the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited, where his role focused on managing large-scale energy projects, power system planning and providing strategic consulting to government agencies and private firms. His work included developing comprehensive energy solutions that significantly improved operational efficiency and reduced costs. His research at the MIT Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research and the Future Energy Systems Center of the MIT Energy Initiative, is focused on clean energy and infrastructure investments towards a low carbon Economy.
Sander de la Rambelje - Content Director
Sander is a first-year Master’s student in System Design and Management. Originally from The Netherlands, Sander has also studied and worked in Switzerland and the San Francisco Bay Area. In the six years prior to coming to MIT, Sander has worked with various international organizations to promote ambitious energy and climate regulation and advance market transformation through innovative public-private partnerships. He has a particular affinity with building decarbonization and grid-interactive energy solutions. Alongside his professional interests, Sander enjoys culturally immersive travel, photography, hiking and skiing.
Logan Hammond - Content Director
Logan Hammond is a senior in chemical engineering with a minor in nuclear engineering. He has UROPed with the Surendranath Lab and the MIT climate and sustainability consortium. His interest is in energy and specifically new, green energy production technologies. He worked with the startup JTEC Energy, developing a new hydrogen based heat engine. In his free time he enjoys sports, puzzles, and going to concerts.
Megan Hung - Content Director
Megan is a 2026 MBA candidate at MIT Sloan. Prior to Sloan, Megan spent 7 years as a consultant primarily focused on the consumer products and retail industry, which spurred her interest in the circular economy. An alumna of the World Bachelor in Business program, Megan holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and from Bocconi University as well as a BBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In her free time, Megan enjoys perusing farmers markets, hiking, and scuba diving.
Art Zahar - Marketing Director
Art is a 2025 MBA candidate at MIT Sloan, concentrating on technical leadership, aerospace innovation, and sustainability. An alum of the MIT Delta V program, he is passionate about commercializing technologies to drive systemic change. Previously, he worked in turnaround consulting for a global agribusiness, leading initiatives in commercial innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability. Art is vegan and interested in food and carbon capture technologies. A graduate of the University of Sydney, he holds degrees in genetics, analytics, and economics, and has published in a top operations research journal.
Norah Miller - Marketing Director
Norah Miller is a third-year undergraduate majoring in Course 16 (Aerospace Engineering) and minoring in Environment and Sustainability. Her dream job would be to help design the future of sustainable aircraft. She is involved with the Undergraduate Association Sustainability Committee, and was the previous designer of the MIT Climate Clock Fall 2023. Outside of school, she also is captain of the Women’s Openweight Rowing team and enjoys hiking, biking, and paddle boarding.
Wendy Zhang - Marketing Director
Wendy Zhang is a third-year undergraduate majoring in Course 6-3 (Computer Science and Engineering) and minoring in Environment and Sustainability at MIT. She has conducted research with several MIT organizations, including the MIT Energy Initiative and the MIT Climate and Sustainability Consortium, focusing on the intersection of software and environmental impact. She is passionate about applying her technical expertise to create sustainable solutions that address global challenges.
Jules Nguyen - Operations Director
Jules Nguyen is a first year MBA Candidate pursuing certificates in Digital Product Management and Sustainability at MIT Sloan School of Management. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science with a double minor in Forestry & Natural Resources and Geospatial Information Science & Technology at UC Berkeley. This summer, she was involved with the Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship at MIT as the Orbit Product Manager working on primary market research and launching new features and updates. In her spare time, Jules is a yoga instructor and enjoys keeping up with her own practice. She also enjoys skiing, running and cooking up a storm for her friends.
Jack Fletcher - Operations Director
Jack is a third-year Ph.D. student in Nuclear Science & Engineering from St. Louis, Missouri. He received his B.S. from Missouri S&T and became involved in advocacy for nuclear energy research through the American Nuclear Society (ANS) and the MIT Science Policy Initiative. Specializing in fusion neutronics, Jack takes interest in the unique technical, policy, and supply-chain challenges faced by fusion energy, and the role it can play in a decarbonized grid. Jack also chairs the "Nuclear Innovations" session at the ANS Young Professionals' Congress and is passionate about involving young people with emerging energy technologies. In his spare time, Jack enjoys playing Ultimate and has served as President of the MIT Concert Band, where he also plays the tuba.
Katie Kempff - Operations Director
Katie Kempff is a third-year undergrad in Courses 1-12 (Climate System Science and Engineering) and 21G (Spanish). Her academic interests include remote sensing of greenhouse gas emissions, carbon management, renewable energy development, and climate policy. Previously, she has worked as a Climate Science intern for the American Carbon Registry, designed a radiation experiment that flew on the ISS, and conducted research with both the MIT Climate & Sustainability Consortium and MIT AeroAstro department. She also spent a summer working as an engineering intern in Cape Town, South Africa, through MIT’s MISTI program. As part of MIT’s “climate” major, she is excited to get involved with MITEC as part of the Operations team for Energy & Climate Night. Outside of academics, she is a member of MIT’s Track and Field team and a coach for the Little Beavers running club.
